Let Your Light Shine

One of my favorite oracle cards from Soulful Women is the Uniquely Myself card. This card illustrates being who you are as you are because we all have amazing gifts to share. Some of us get in our own way thinking “I’m no one special” or “I have no gifts,” but this is far from the truth. No matter how big or small of a gift it’s important to let your light shine.

As kids, many of us were taught to hide our gifts and to dim our light. We were to be seen and not heard. So, we kept quiet and held ourselves back from being the most powerful, brilliant

version of ourselves. We also took in what society placed upon us creating feelings of inadequacy which questioned our value and self-worth.

It’s important to reclaim your power and push through insecurities. Don’t allow fear to hold you back. Create an affirmation of “I have value, I am valuable” or any words that help ignite your worth. And don’t worry if you feel your light is too bright. One of my favorite quotes is from Motivational Speaker, Lisa Nichols. She says, “If someone tells you your light is too bright, then tell them to put on a pair of shades.”

And then follow it up with the song, “This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine. This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine. This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine. Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine.”
